Catering for students effectively means providing learning opportunities and support for their current achievement level.

When teachers and students understand the subtleties of Indigenous relationships and communication styles then learning becomes a partnership and creates engagement.

This session is designed as an introduction to further develop teacher's understanding of protocols that influence curriculum and teaching and learning approaches for indigenous education and inclusion in mainstream schools.

Standards addressed:
1.4.2 Design and implement effective teaching strategies that are responsive to the local community and cultural setting, linguistic background and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

2.4.2 Provide opportunities for students to develop understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages.

This event will be run online externally by Teachers Learning Network. You will receive instructions about how to link in closer to the event.
