Details:

Formative assessment and continuous assessment of student learning can be perceived as time consuming when it is seen as an added on task. However, when it is done well and with careful planning it will lead to more effective teaching and improved student outcomes.

Strategies for remote learning put into place during COVID-19 lockdowns also provide useful adjustments to incorporate into mainstream classroom practices.

This session will explore techniques to streamline assessment processes, including student self-assessment, peer assessment and in-class observations which can increase efficiency and time management to ensure assessments are effective and engaging.

Standards addressed:
5.1.2 Develop, select and use informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning.

5.3.2 Understand and participate in assessment moderation activities to support consistent and comparable judgments of student learning.

This event will be run online externally by Teachers Learning Network. You will receive instructions about how to link in closer to the event.
