Summary:

Being in a learning environment with many others can be a difficult experience and may trigger challenging behaviours in some children. Supporting these children to engage in the program is one of the most valuable things educators can do. This session will consider why a child may find it difficult to remain calm in a preschool environment, the importance of devoting time to the children who need it, programming to support pro-social behaviours, and strategies for keeping other children safe.

This event has been mapped against the following Australia Professional Standards for Teachers:

1.6.2 Strategies to support full participation of students with disability
4.3.2 Manage challenging behaviour
