Details:
Being in a learning environment with many others can be a difficult experience and may trigger challenging behaviour in some children.
Supporting these children to engage in the program is one of the most valuable things educators can do.
This session will consider why a child may find it difficult to remain calm in a preschool environment, the importance of devoting time to the children who need it, programming to support pro-social behaviour, and strategies for keeping other children safe.
Standards addressed:
4.1.2 Establish and implement inclusive and positive interactions to engage and support all students in classroom activities.
4.3.2 Manage challenging behaviour by establishing and negotiating clear expectations with students, and address discipline issues promptly, fairly and respectfully.
