New Workplace Representatives Level 1 2022 - September 2022
For AEU New Reps This hands on, participatory course works with you to ensure you know what your rights and responsibilities are as a union representative. This course is designed for those who are brand new to elected union representative positions- the Sub Branch Secretary or AEU PAC, SSO or Women’s Representative.

This course is held over two days and it is expected that participants attend both days in a face-to-face environment.
Thursday 1 September 2022, 9:15am - 3:30pm and Friday 2 September 2022 9:15am - 3:30pm

Aim and Objectives
Aim: To develop the knowledge and skills of union representatives both in terms of industrial and practical information, consultation methods and processes.
Objectives:
- Discuss union values at their site. Build worker understanding of union values.
- Increase knowledge regarding meeting procedure, ethical consultation and union processes - including PAC and Merit processes.
- Identify members at the site and map membership data. Invite staff to join their union.
