This course is designed for those who are brand new to elected Union representative positions- the Sub-Branch Secretary or AEU PAC, SSO or Women’s Representative.
This hands-on, participatory course works with you to ensure you know what your rights and responsibilities are as a representative.
Lunch, TRT cover and travel assistance (for country members) are provided to participants by the AEU SA.

Courses are held over two days and it is expected that participants attend both days.

Elected AEU Reps who have not attended any AEU Union education courses.

Aim:
To develop the knowledge and skills of Union representatives both in terms of industrial and practical information, consultation methods and processes.
Objectives:
Discuss union values at their site. Build worker understanding of union values.
Increase knowledge regarding meeting procedure, ethical consultation and union processes - including PAC and Merit processes.
Identify members at the site and map membership data. Invite staff to join their union.

Travel Assistance:
Participants requiring country travel and accommodation assistance must not make their own arrangements.
