Leaders Spotlight: Band B Leadership Series - Term 2 2022
You’re Not Thinking, You’re Just Being Logical
Register Here
Summary
You’re Not Thinking, You’re Just Being Logical – with Martin Westwell
At the AEU, we hope that public education in South Australia will change in a profound way with the April 2022 appointment of Martin Westwell as the Chief Executive of the Department for Education.
This term, for the first time, our Book Club is going to use a TEDx Talk presented by Martin Westwell as the prompt for our learning.
Martin, as a Professor of Education at Flinders University, argued that learning that focused less on knowledge and more on problem solving leads to more challenge and equity in our schools.
This change in thinking has implications for leaders across our schools as we look forward to designing learning for our students in 2023 and beyond.
We hope that you can join us on Thursday the 16th of June at 4:30pm for dialogue and discussion about the place of convergent and divergent thinking in learning.
This session will give you hope for your future and the future of your students.
This workshop has been mapped against the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:
7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities
