Event 1
AEU SA Reconciliation: Warriparinga Cultural and Historical Tour:
90 min cultural learning walk at the Kaurna Living Cultural centre.
In person professional learning opportunity.

Bring a picnic and stay for lunch!
Opportunity to link this with the Art workshop in the afternoon

Details:
Warriparinga Cultural & Historical Tour – 90 minute walking trail through the Warriparinga park and wetlands
Be taken on a guided tour of the grounds of Warriparinga and learn about the history and current offerings of the location.
This tour will help you to appreciate the natural environment of Warriparinga and the Sturt River as well as understand the history and significance of Warriparinga and Dreaming stories.
Event 2
AEU SA Reconciliation: Aboriginal Art Work Introduction
90 min art workshop to introduce you to Aboriginal art at the Living Kaurna Cultural centre.
In person professional learning opportunity.

Wednesday 6 October 2021 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Opportunity to link this with the cultural and historical walk in the morning.

AEU members: $15 subsidised rate

Details:
Art Workshop
This 90 minute workshop includes an introductory talk about Aboriginal art and craft and an opportunity for students to paint their own piece of art.
Kaurna artists will lead this hands on art workshop. The workshop includes a Welcome to Country, education on the different art styles of mobs across Australia and a guided painting of a canvas to keep.
These workshops have been mapped against the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
2.4 Understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians.
7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities
