Preschool Workload Review survey goes live

17-08-2011

Throughout 2011 many preschool members have contacted the AEU to raise concerns regarding escalating workloads. Preschool Directors and other staff are endeavouring to manage the simultaneous implementation of a host of State and Federal initiatives. These include Universal Access, the National Quality Framework and a range of new online processes recently introduced by DECS.

In May this year, Branch Council determined the need for systematic collection of data related to additional workload for preschool members.

Following this, the AEU and DECS jointly developed a workload survey specifically for preschools. This survey is similar to the one issued earlier in the year to schools as part of the Review of Teachers and Leaders Work arising from the 2010 Arbitrated Award.

The survey will only take a short time to complete and your input is very important in helping us to address workload issues and concerns.

The AEU and DECS are also inviting written submissions to the Workload Review from preschool staff.

Please follow this link for more information on the submission process.

Please note that by joint agreement between the AEU and DECS, submissions will be accepted until Friday September 30 (end of Term 3), not August 26 as stated in the circular linked above.
