At the recent COAG meeting in August, state and federal politicians pulled back from making a decison about further market reform of the TAFE sector around the country, because they were concerned about the rapid expansion of private provision and the consequences for students. This may be a short reprieve for TAFE. The TAFE system is crucially important to South Australian. The SA Skills for All Policy will result in:

  • Increased costs for students
  • TAFE campus closures
  • Unrestrained growth of private for profit providers.

This seminar will address the impact of these policies and address actions that members can take to defend TAFE from the consequences of the Skills for All policy.
