Universal Access to 15 hours preschool education has extended to category 2 centres and will be implemented in all centres by the middle of the year. A small number of centres have been given approval by DECD to trial the provision of 15 hours over 2 days. 

The AEU will be involved in monitoring this configuration in order to protect members’ industrial entitlements and the integrity of preschool education programs. 

All members involved in the implementation of 15 hours of preschool, whatever the configuration of sessions, should be mindful of their Award based hours of work and access to a paid lunch break.
