Keynote: John Simpson,  "Bridging the Gap in Science... Engaging students in Science through literacy and technology"

John Simpson is a former South Australian who now lives and works in Texas, USA. As a consultant, John supports and trains teachers all over the US in how to integrate technology into their classrooms using hand held computers and sensors. His focus is about making science relevant, and engaging students in a process that leads them to further studies.

Participants will be able to gain new ways of engaging students and the presentation will have a practical basis. John will also be able to provide insights into teaching conditions in Texas and some interesting aspects of the education system he works in.

A series of practical workshops designed to cater to teachers of 8-10 year olds are included in the conference.Click here for the conference program.

The AEU will provides morning tea but not lunch. Lunch can be preordered from a visiting caterer, purchased from local cafes or brought from home.
