85% member support for stop work action

At the 12 noon Wednesday deadline for the return of workplace ballot results‚ 85% of members have voted in favour of strike action and 535 worksites had reported a majority vote to close their worksite.

On the basis of such strong support‚ AEU Branch Executive has declared a Statewide Stoppage on Tuesday 17 June. As a consequence of this determination‚ AEU Executive encourages all AEU members to participate in the stop work action.
