My School and League Tables - an AEU proposal

Rigorous assessment and reporting is an integral part of successful teaching and learning.
Parents have every right to information on their child’s progress and the effectiveness of
their child’s school.

This information must be accurate, comprehensive and reliable – and it must support the efforts
of schools to continually improve opportunities and outcomes for students.

Unfortunately the My School website has fallen well short of these standards, a problem
compounded by the misleading and invalid league tables that followed within 24 hours of the site
going live.
