FEAST WORKSHOP -  "Safe schools for a sexually diverse all: Allies, advocates and activists". This workshop is being run as part of the Feast Festival and is open to all.

Homophobia is a serious issue for GLBTI students, parents, community support agencies and teachers. This workshop will provide a forum for those affected to openly discuss the issues and develop strategies to create acceptance of gender and sexual diversity in South Australia.

The workshop is open to students, parents, teachers and anyone interested in addressing homophobia in schools.

Our guest facilitator is Roz Ward from La Trobe University and Coordinator, Rainbow Network Victoria and Safe Schools Coalition Victoria. Roz will share how they have established a Safe Schools Coalition in Victoria. She will explore the challenges and successes. Roz will also facilitate discussion and skill-based activities designed to support participants to change our schools to safe communities.

A special feature of the workshop will be the opportunity for students to come together and work with the Gay Straight Alliance.

The workshop has been designed by SA students, teachers and AEU staff.
