SSO/ECW Week is a time to celebrate the work and contribution SSOs/ECWs make to public education.

Why not hold a morning tea, lunch, or an assembly to recognise SSOs/ECWs our your site?

During SSO/ECW Week we are encouraging all school sites to ensure they have an SSO Contact Officer who works with the Sub-branch Secretary to encourage the participation of SSOs in sub-branch activity.

If your school site does not have an SSO Contact Officer, members are encouraged to liaise with the Sub-branch Secretary to organise an election and to ensure that this item is on the agenda at the next meeting of the sub-branch.

We encourage all sites to celebrate SSO/ECW Week and to send us in some photos showing us how you celebrated – we would love to hear from you!

Sub-branch Secretaries/AEU reps: follow this link to download an SSO Week certificate. Add the names of your SSOs to the certificate and display it in your site or present them at your school assembly.

Who loves chocolate?

In the lead up to SSO/ECW Week we are calling on our members to come up with some creative ideas to encourage other SSOs/ECWs to join the AEU and to tell us how you have encouraged other members to get involved in the AEU.

In 100 words or less, tell us how you have supported another SSO/ECW to either join the AEU or engaged a member to be active – there’s a delicious prize for the best 3 entries!

Remember all items sent to AEU for publication in the Journal or on our website will go into the running for one of three fantastic prizes from Next Byte, including the new Mac Mini and iPad.
