The Federal Government has announced a review of the way it funds public and private schools.

This is our chance to get a better deal for the millions of students and families who rely on our public schools.

We must move away from a system that puts private schools first and extends privilege rather than opportunity.

The Review of Funding for Schooling is being undertaken by a panel of eminent Australians who are consulting widely before making recommendations on changes to the way schools are funded by the Federal Government.

The panel is interested in hearing from everyone with an interest in schooling and will ensure consultation processes allow all individuals, schools and organisations to contribute their views. You can learn more about the review here.

Parents, teachers and public education supporters can now make general submissions to the review. Further opportunities to put in submissions on specific issues will be announced as the review progresses.

The best thing you can do is let the review panel know your views about the importance of investing more in our public schools and what the benefits would be. You don’t have to be an expert to make a submission, just somebody who cares about the education of our children.
