Are you interested in participating in a program that will build your leadership skills and knowledge? Do you see a future in union leadership?

The Women in Leadership Development (WILD) program is funded by the Federal Government through the ACTU and is open to AEU members in South Australia who hold a union position such as Workplace Representative, Sub-branch Secretary, Branch Council Delegate, Branch Executive member, Women's Contact Officer, School Services Contact Officer, OHS&W rep, or an elected position on an AEU standing or consultative committee.

Program participants will undertake four days of training in Adelaide and some out-of-hours activities.

Back-fill, travel, accommodation and course materials will be provided by the AEU.

Participants will have the opportunity to be linked with mentors and network with other participants. The learning will be fun and informative, and most importantly, relevant to your personal union leadership development goals.

Follow this link to hear what some of last year's participants had to say about WILD.

This year participants will hear from guest presenters from a range of union backgrounds who will share their own leadership journeys.

Topics in 2012 will include:

  • Leadership and Change
  • Strategic Planning
  • Power and Influence
  • Leadership and Management
  • Understanding self and leadership

Dates for face-to-face sessions in Adelaide are as follows:

Monday 21 May and Tuesday 22 May

Friday 10 August (plus Saturday morning August 11 at Branch Council)

One day in November (to be negotiated).
